Silence.
That's all there was.
Focus, concentration.
"READY," a voice disturbed the silence.
The creaking sound of bows getting ready to be fired.
"RELEASE."
Arrows shooting through the air.
A little girl, no older than 700 years old, wiped strands of hair out of her face, revealing a large scar over her left eye. She focussed on her arrow, which had once again hit bullseye. She smiled.
The teacher walked past all the targets of the other children. He gave them all advise, told them how good they were or scolded them. He looked at the girl's target, then looked at her. He said nothing and walked past all the targets again.
The girl sighed and walked towards her target to pull out the arrow. When she turned around, she saw a flash of yellow between the green bushes, which were quite far away. She focussed and saw two large yellow flashes looking at her from between the bushes. Within seconds the two flashes were gone.
She raised her finger and jumped.
"Yes?" the teacher said.
"I need to go to the bathroom."
He nodded, "make it quick."
She ran towards the bushes, still holding the arrow in her tiny hand. She ran into the bushed area and looked around.
"I know you're there," she said with a squeaky voice, "who are you?"
She had seen the two flashes before, but had never dared to approach them.
"My name's Arzant, but my friends call me Arza."
Something big and brown moved behind a tree. Arza pointed the arrow towards it.
"Show yourself."
A brown flash ran towards her, knocked her over and then ran off.
